Tera Williams is a professional nerd and mother to Clinton and Harlan. She was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington and is passionate about supporting her community. Tera has served as an AmeriCorps Volunteer at Tacoma’s Stewart Middle School, a Teaching Artist for Seattle Architecture Foundation, a peer educator at Families of Color Seattle, the 2019 Equity in Preservation Intern at 4Culture, a University of Washington ARC Fellow at Gustafson Guthrie Nichol, and as a Preservation of Special Projects funding panelist at 4Culture. She consulted with Spaceworks for the Links To Opportunity project, Fab-5 for the #DesignTheHill community-guided development initiative in partnership with Tacoma Housing Authority and Forterra, Families of Color Seattle for curriculum development. She is currently the Operations Director for Cousin Collective.

Tera has an AAS from Tacoma Community College, a BA from the Evergreen State College, an MDS with Distinction in Design for Human Health from Boston Architectural College, and is currently pursuing Ph.D. in the Built Environment at the University of Washington. She presented her research at the Environmental Design Research Association's 2018, 2019, and 2022 annual conferences—EDRA49 Oklahoma City: Social Equity by Design, Designing Connections Through Community; EDRA50Brooklyn: Sustainable Urban Environments; and EDRA53 Greenville: Health in All Design: Promoting Health, Equity, Sustainability, and Resilience through Environmental Design.
